Fixing Transfer Issues on the First Cards Printed Each Day
If your Fargo HDP5000 is producing incomplete transfers on the first few cards of the day, adjusting the printer’s configuration can help eliminate the problem.
Best Practice:
Power off the printer overnight and allow it to warm up for at least 15 minutes before printing in the morning (similar to letting an oven preheat).
How to Correct Incomplete Transfer:
Update Printer Software:
Install the most recent printer driver and firmware versions.
Modify Printer Preferences:
Open the Devices and Printers section on your computer.
Right-click on Fargo HDP5000 and select Printing Preferences.
Click on Toolbox.
Run Lamination Calibration (if required):
Follow the instructions provided in the calibration tool.
Adjust Advanced Settings:
Go to the Advanced Settings tab.
Change both Standby Timer and Sleep Timer to 0.
Set the Transfer Temperature Offset to -10.
Close the Printer Toolbox.
Finalize Transfer Settings:
Set Transfer Dwell Time to 2.5 seconds per inch.
Set Transfer Temperature to 178.0°C.
